Kata Tjuta (Olgas) Sunset at Uluru Kings Canyon in the Rain

3 1/2 Day tour - Alice Springs, Arid Zone Trip

<- Back
[This trip can depart early morning or noon.]

Day 1
Depart Alice Springs, traveling leisurely south through the Waterhouse Ranges and the James Ranges crossing the ancient Finke and Palmer Rivers on our way to King's Creek Station for Lunch and setting up our first night camp. Then it's off to one of my favourite places - Kings Canyon. We walk the rim both North and South as well as the Garden of Eden. Ultimately descending to our transport for our dinner and camp fire experience.

Day 2
Leave King's Creek Station we head for Curtain Springs Cattle Station looking at the “table mountain”, Mt Connor. Then it's back on the road, heading for the nights accommodation at Yulara Resort camp grounds. Once camp is set up we climb aboard the bus for a short run down to the famous Uluru (Ayers Rock) stopping at the Visitors Centre for a guided walk and talk. After this enlightening look at the Aboriginal people & their culture, we head out to Uluru for a walk around the base, or for those feeling energetic a climb to the top. By now it will be time to relax and enjoy a breathtaking sunset and changing colours of Uluru.

Day 3
Early morning start as we head out for sunrise at Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). From here we head into the Valley of the Winds. After lunch we take a leisurely drive back to camp to relax and prepare for another, yet still awesome, sunset at Uluru. Another special evening in the shadow of the majestic and mysterious Rock. iii8

Day 4
We reluctantly set off on the road again as we head of up the Lasseter and, seemingly endless, Stuart Highway. Arriving back in Alice Springs, hopefully wanting to do it all again.
